Te Mata Four Square to remain closed for at least eight weeks following fire

The doors of Te Mata Four Square in Havelock North will remain closed for at least another eight weeks following a fire at the store earlier this month.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, owners Jayesh and Nilam Uka said the fire had "ruined" their retail area.

"We miss your friendly faces and I want to assure you that behind the security fences that now surround our store, we are doing what we can to get our little Four Square up and running again as soon as possible.

"At this stage, we are looking at 8+ weeks before we can open our doors again," Jayesh said.

Three fire appliances from Havelock North and Hastings responded to the fire at Te Mata Four Square, on Te Mata Road at 5.25pm on January 4.

Jayesh thanked "each and everyone" who has messaged them over the last couple of weeks with well wishes.

"I have read every single one of them and look forward to seeing you all very soon. Your support has made all the difference in keeping us positive to come back stronger."
