Large forest fire burning north of Napier
Fire crews are fighting a large forest fire covering four hectares which broke out late this morning at Tangoio, north of Napier.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand say four helicopters and 11 appliances have responded to the fire, which is near Tangoio Settlement Road.
No properties are currently threatened by the fire.
It’s being reported the fire started on the edge of the forest about 3km north of the Pan Pac mill, on an area that borders grassland.
