Levi Armstrong – from Mongrel Mob family to community leader and fitness guru

Levi Armstrong was born in a Mongrel Mob family, but he decided to change his life.

Now he is an inspirational community leader, an academic scholar and a researcher at EIT.

Brought up in poverty and steeped in gang culture, Levi chose to educate himself and follow his passion – fitness. He saw getting fit and bettering himself as a way to improve his life and set himself on a path for success.

Not only has he achieved this, but he has also improved the health of countless hundreds, inspired communities to get off their couches and also propelled himself into an academic research environment that he would never have dreamed was possible.

Levi is currently studying for his Masters with his wife Dana through EIT and they are conducting research in Maraenui with a unique community fitness initiative.

This week Andrew Austin interviewed them on his show Austin on Air on Radio Kidnappers. Listen to the interview here: https://www.radiokidnappers.org.nz/Programmes/Details.aspx?PID=f0baa57f-09cc-4126-aeca-37d879aa3677
