With the Christmas tree packed away again for another year and just four weeks until school starts, Heretaunga Kindergarten Association (HFKA) is reminding local families to make kindergarten enrolment a priority.
The Hastings and Central Hawke’s Bay-based organisation, which provides high quality early childhood education across its 16 regional sites, is looking forward to welcoming even more children to its centres from 20 January. It offers a wide range of options for pre-school children at its popular day-long, morning or afternoon sessions.
HFKA is currently taking enrolments at its sites in Camberley, Havelock North Central, Parkvale, Ellen Stevenson, Raureka and Irongate, as well as at Lucknow Kindergarten in Havelock North and Mayfair Kindergarten in Hastings where it was announced in late 2019 that new extended hours and school holiday opening will be on offer this year.
“While the end of the summer break may seem a long way off still, we encourage families to make sure that each child has secured their kindergarten place with us ahead of the new term, which kicks off on 20 January,” says HFKA’s General Manager, Fiona Mason.
“This year we are thrilled to be offering increasingly flexible choices to families, especially at Lucknow and Mayfair Kindergartens where their longer day will run from 8am to 3:30pm at Lucknow, and 8am to 4pm at Mayfair. We want even more children to join us on the educational adventures that we have become widely recognised for.”
Fiona says that kindergartens are also a great choice for those families wanting the smoothest possible transition from early childhood to primary education. “Kindergartens are specialists in preparing our tamariki for their entry into primary school – a journey we take with each child and are justifiably proud of being expert at,” she concludes.
