Man shot in Flaxmere, school in lockdown
Flaxmere Primary School is in lockdown after a man was reportedly shot nearby.
“We are on lock down. Please stay out of the school. All our kids are safe,” the school said in a Facebook post.
“Please stay. We are all hidden and OK.”
Police and ambulance were called to nearby Henderson Rd in Flaxmere at about 2.20pm.
Armed police have been seen in the area.
Police confirmed they were responding to a firearm incident and that the school has gone into lockdown as a precautionary measure.
They said an adult has reportedly sustained injuries.
“Cordons are in place and parents are advised to be patient,” police said.
“Any further details will be provided as soon as they are available.
“Members of the public are advised to avoid the area.”
