More rain on the way later today, sun tomorrow

MetService is warning heavy rain could hit Hawke’s Bay later today.

It’s issued a heavy rain watch for the region, through until 10pm tonight, indicating rainfall between now and then could be heavy at times.

A complex and slow-moving trough of low pressure affects the North Island today, bringing rain or showers to many places, with some heavy falls about parts of eastern districts.

The heaviest rain is expected in the Tararua District and Hawke’s Bay south of Waipawa where a heavy rain warning is in force.

The weather is expected to become fine and sunny tomorrow, however, with a forecast temperature of 21 degrees.
