Napier Mayor Bill Dalton believed to have suffered a stroke
Napier City Council says Mayor Bill Dalton suffered what is understood to be a stroke early last evening.
“We are unable to provide any further information on his condition at this time,” the council said in a statement this morning.
“Our heartfelt thoughts and very best wishes are with our Mayor, his wife Shirley and his family at this time.”
Deputy Mayor Faye White will assume the role of Acting Mayor.
The council says it will provide an update as soon as more information is available.
