Napier Mayor’s condition improves
Hawke’s Bay District Health Board says Napier Mayor Bill Dalton’s medical condition has improved and his status is now serious but stable.
Mayor Dalton was admitted to Hawke’s Bay Hospital on Tuesday night in a critical condition after suffering a stroke.
In a statement, the DHB said the Dalton family has asked them to, again, thank everyone for the huge number of kind and supportive messages they have received over the past few days.
Mayor Dalton’s wife Shirley said it was very early days in her husband’s recovery, however, she and his wider family were very pleased with the progress he was making.
The family said they would issue another statement should his condition change.
