Armed police search for shooting suspect after one seriously injured in Napier
Armed police are searching for a person in Napier wanted in relation to a shooting in which one person was seriously injured.
A police spokesperson said the incident occurred near the intersection of Tait Drive and Lamason Street, Napier in the Napier suburb of Greenmeadows about 1.15pm.
One person is reported to have sustained a leg injury and the offender has left the scene.
"Staff in the area are currently armed as a precaution," the spokesperson said.
"At this stage, there is no information to suggest a risk to the wider public.
"We thank our community for their patience."
