Covid-19: 162 new community cases
There are 162 new Covid-19 cases in the community today - 156 in Auckland, five in Waikato and one in Northland.
Today's numbers were released by the Ministry of Health in a statement ahead of a post-Cabinet briefing at 4pm this afternoon.
Ninety-two of today's cases remain unlinked to the current outbreak. Fifty-three people are in hospital, three of which are in ICU.
Today's record-setting cases come just two days after the previous record of 160.
