Fatal motorcycle crash victim named
A motorcyclist who died after a serious crash on State Highway 2 in Central Hawke's Bay has been named.
He was Lance Raymond Perry, 60, of Waipukurau.
Emergency services were called to the crash between a ute and a motorcyclist at the intersection of State Highway 2 and Maharakeke Road at about 5.40am on Monday.
Police said the motorcyclist was in a critical condition and taken to Palmerston North Hospital by rescue helicopter, but died in the helicopter.
"Police extend their condolences to Mr Perry’s family and friends," police said in a statement.
An investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing.
