Gleeson Park Playground opens in time for school holiday fun

The Gleeson Park Playground has opened just in time for the school holidays.

The playground, located at the top of Faraday Road on Hospital Hill, Napier, was opened last week.

In a post on its Facebook page, the Napier City Council said that the transformation had been guided and inspired by community feedback and the history of Mataruahou, the original Māori name for Napier Hill.

“We were thrilled to celebrate the opening of the Gleeson Park playground - just in time for the school holidays! Tamariki had a blast climbing, jumping, balancing and swinging their way around their new neighbourhood playground.”

“Keen to explore this play space with your whānau? Gleeson Park is located at the top of Faraday Road on Hospital Hill. There's plenty of green space, so pack a picnic and make a day of it.”
