Hastings District Council delays decision on opening Splash Planet

Hastings district councillors have delayed making a decision on whether or not to open Splash Planet until more information becomes available on the government’s updated COVID-19 response, expected
tomorrow.

Councillors were scheduled to discuss the matter at an extraordinary meeting today, "but with the risk to public health being the paramount consideration", have delayed their decision until after the
Government’s announcements.

Hawke’s Bay DHB senior officials will meet with councillors early next week to discuss the public health implications of opening the facility, and the decision will come back to council at a meeting next week,
Thursday, October 28.
