Ideas sought for new Westshore Playground upgrade

Westshore Beach Reserve playground is in for an upgrade, and Napier City Council is asking residents what they would like to see there in the future.

Jason Tickner, Council’s Team Leader Parks Reserves and Sportsgrounds says that community input is important.

“We’d love to know what new equipment the community would like to see at this playground, as well as amenities in the nearby area, such as seating or fencing.”

With 22 playgrounds located throughout Napier, Jason says council aims to renew playgrounds as needed, with priority given to older playgrounds or those in high demand areas.

A community information pop-up session is being held on Thursday, December 9 from 4pm to 6pm at Westshore Beach Reserve Playground, Ferguson Avenue, Westshore.

“Please come along to ask questions of our team. You can then submit your ideas through our online consultation process,” says Jason.
