Limited tickets remain for UK comedian Jimmy Carr's two Toitoi shows

Just 200 tickets remain to British comedian Jimmy Carr's two Hastings shows next year.

Carr had already announced one show at Toitoi – Hawke’s Bay Arts & Events Centre, to be held on Wednesday, January 25, next year as part of his tour to Aotearoa New Zealand. But when it nearly sold out in just six hours of presales last Thursday, June 23, Carr added a second show to his stop in Hastings.

Carr’s extra show will also be on January 25, at a later time of 9.30pm. Tickets to both shows are now on-sale, with just 200 tickets left across the two shows.

Toitoi Kaiwhakahaere Ratonga Whakaari/ Presenter Services Manager Glen Pickering says the second show is a real coup for local audiences, and both shows selling so quickly is a sign of how popular comedy is at Toitoi.

“Toitoi has a long history of sell-out comedy shows, including two shows by fellow UK comedian Bill Bailey over Easter weekend last year. So, it’s awesome to see locals continue to show their support for both touring comedians and our theatre.

“Given Jimmy’s shows are over summer, it’s the perfect opportunity to take visiting friends or whānau out for a great meal in Hastings city centre, followed by a night of laughs with a world-class entertainer in a world-class venue,” he says.

For those who miss out, Pickering says there is a ton of great comedy coming up at Toitoi, including a four-day weekend of comedy, called Laugh Your Mask Off, which will be at four venues across the CBD at the end of July.

"So, keep an eye out for that going on sale on Friday and make sure you grab your tickets quickly before you miss out again!”

Tickets to Jimmy Carr: Terribly Funny on January 25 are on sale now. See www.toitoivenues.co.nz for more information, or head to the Toitoi Box Office to secure your seats now.
