Police seek driver of mystery car following serious Hastings crash
Police are seeking the driver of a mystery car that left the scene of a serious crash in Hastings this morning.
Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle crash involving a blue car on York Road in Longlands at 8.55am.
A St John Ambulance spokeswoman said they transported two patients; one in a critical condition, and the other in a serious condition, to Hawke's Bay Hospital.
The crash was initially thought to have occurred when the car hit a ditch, but a police spokesperson said one car nearly collided with a second car, before crashing into a power pole and then a hedge.
"A vehicle stopped at the scene of the crash but left before Police were able to speak with the driver."
