Post-mortem to determine cause of death of 7-year-old Wairoa boy
Police have revealed the child who died in Wairoa on Sunday was a seven-year-old boy.
The boy, who was living in Frasertown, was found unresponsive at his home. Despite efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead at Wairoa Hospital.
A police spokesperson said an autopsy was completed yesterday. The results will help determine the cause of his death.
On Monday, police confirmed that an investigation into the child’s death had begun. At the time, the death was being treated as "unexplained".
