Three people taken to hospital following serious crash on State Highway 2
Three people have been taken to Hawke's Bay Hospital following a serious crash involving a car and a truck this morning.
Emergency services were called to the crash, at the intersection of Te Onepu Road and SH 2, Te Hauke, shortly after 10am.
A police spokeswoman said initial indications were that three people sustained minor to moderate injuries, and a fourth person had been seriously injured.
However, a spokesperson for St John ambulance later confirmed they transported three people to Hawke's Bay Hospital - two in a serious condition and one in a moderate condition.
The road is down to one lane and traffic management is being put in place. Motorists are asked to avoid the area where possible, as there will likely be delays.
