Two men remain in hospital following Havelock North crash

Two men remain in a stable condition at Hawke's Bay Hospital following a crash in Havelock North yesterday afternoon.

One person died, and three people were injured in the two-car crash.

Emergency services were called to the scene on St Georges Road, Havelock North, about 4.30pm yesterday afternoon.

Police confirmed last night that the deceased was in one car, and three others injured were in a second car - one seriously injured, and two moderately injured.

A spokesperson for Te Matau a Māui Hawke’s Bay (formerly the Hawke's Bay District Health Board) said that one man in his 30s was assessed and discharged.

Two men in their 40s are in a stable condition.

The road reopened about 11.30pm last night.

"Police would like to thank residents and motorists for their patience and cooperation as we worked at the crash scene," police said late last night.
