Happy hour with Joe Cole

What: Come join The Urban Winery for happy hour specials from 5pm and stick around for a free live acoustic set with Joe Cole from 6pm. With musical influences such as David Gray, Led Zeppelin, Hendrix and Passenger, Joe delivers a rustic feel of new age folk and R&B.
Tahi Festival and Toitoi present - Whānau
When: Friday 1 July, 7:30pm
Where: Toitoi - Hawke's Bay Arts & Events Centre, 101 Hastings Street South, Hastings
What: Directed by Sally Richards and Kerryn Palmer, Whānau is an energised, hour-long show where four actors take on a selection of Aotearoa’s most iconic solo characters, carried by song and movement transition.
Whānau takes us on a journey from absent dads to matriarchal nanas, family feuds to miracle babies. Whānau lifts the lid on the complexity of family relationships from disastrous to delicious.
Content warnings: Miscarriage, violence, adoption, depression and suicide. Recommended age is 13 years and older.
Saturday Card Games at Lovecraft

Where: Lovecraft Game Store, 41 Station Street, Napier
What: A MTG Pioneer Tournament from 10.30am until 1pm. From 1pm, it switches up and you’ll play a casual Flesh and Blood and MTG Commander until closing. $5 entry.

Toi Waihanga

Where: Muse Art Gallery, 5 Havelock Road, Havelock North
What: In honour of Matariki, Muse presents the work of Raewyn Tauira Paterson (Ngai Tūhoe) and Tim Whaitiri-Henderson (Rongowhakaata, Ngāti Kahungunu).
Together, they embark on a learning journey towards Toi Matauranga (art knowledge), through assemblages of geometric designed wall panels and laser cut light boxes.
