Police release name of fatal Taradale crash
Police have released the name of the person who died following a crash on Springfield Road, Taradale on the 5th of July 2020.
He was John Rongotai Turipa, 75, of Napier.
Police extend their condolences to his whanau and friends at this time.
The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
Police have previously appealed to the public to help piece together the events leading up to the crash.
Police have stated, "We were alerted to the collision by a member of the public who came across it at about 11.50pm however we do not know when the crash occurred."
"We would like to talk to anyone who travelled along Springfield Road on Sunday evening, or who may have seen a silver-coloured Nissan Bluebird in the area.
"This information will help us piece together a timeline of events."
