School holiday workshop for young creatives in Napier next week

Foto Iwi – set up to encourage creativity and belonging for young New Zealanders through visual arts – is running a photography and video workshop in Napier next week.

Aimed at young creatives aged 8 years and upwards, the programme offers fun and innovative creative projects around both photography and video.

Attendees can book for the whole week ($225) or by the day ($50).

It’s a chance to create and be part of a group exhibition at the end of week, to be shared with family and friends.

The programme includes:

  • Self-portraits (Monday)
  • Photo Treasure hunt (Monday)
  • Toy photography (Tuesday)
  • Stop motion/animation (Tuesday)
  • Food photography (Wednesday)
  • Movie making (Thursday)
  • Cloud Photography/Computer editing (Friday)
  • Exhibition (Friday evening)

The workshop is being held at Bledisloe School in Taradale. Each day is based around visual arts, but includes many combined aspects of art and learning such as hand colouring, computer editing and print enhancement.

Foto iwi provides encouragement and opportunities through visual arts. It offers a range workshops, mentoring and learning.
