Serious crash on Napier-Taupo road
Emergency services are at the scene of a serious crash involving a truck and a motorcycle near Te Pohue on State Highway 5 between Napier and Taupo.
Police were called to the crash, near the intersection with Rukumoana Road, south of Te Pohue, at about 6am.
They say initial indications are that there are serious injuries.
The road is closed and there are currently no diversions available.
Motorists should avoid the area and delay travel, if possible.
