New Zealand athletes took home a swathe of medals at two back-to-back inclusive international Taekwon-Do competitions held in Hawke's Bay.

Hundreds of athletes from 20 countries competed at the second Inclusive Taekwon-Do World Championships and the NZ ITF International Open 2023 earlier this month at the Mitre 10
Regional Sports Park and live online.

International Inclusive Taekwon-Do Association President Ben Evans said New Zealand won the overall country with 30 gold, 30 silver and 21 bronze.

“It is very exciting to be able to hold these competitions for our special needs athletes from around the world – they work just as hard on their skills as their mainstream peers and deserve an event that showcases their incredible efforts."
