Super 8 rugby postponed for one week

Napier Boys' High School will have to wait until September 12 before getting a crack at Hamilton Boys' High School in Super 8 1st XV rugby.

NBHS 1st XV coach Brendon Ratcliffe confirmed this morning that all Super 8 fixtures scheduled for Saturday have been postponed in the wake of the latest Covid19 pandemic announcements. His tream's next outing will be on August 22 at home against Rotorua Boys' High School, the same weekend Hastings Boys' High School host New Plymouth Boys' High School.

"As a result there will be no semifinal weekend ... just a straight final. But obviously things are pretty fluid at the moment and there could be further changes down the track," Ratcliffe said.

Like Moascar Cup holders Napier Boys' High School, defending champions Hamilton Boys' High School, are unbeaten after three Super 8 rounds to date. Hamilton will host NBHS on September 12.

Hastings Boys' High School, who are winless after three rounds following an away 17-5 loss to Gisborne Boys' High School last weekend will have an away assignment against Rotorua Boys' High School on September 12.

Napier Boys' High School are still scheduled to host Palmerston North Boys' High School in the annual Polson Banner clash on Thursday, August 27.
