Video: Winston Peters addresses Napier crowd on campaign trail

Winston Peters, the leader of New Zealand First, addressed a full room at the Napier Sailing Club yesterday (Friday).

Peters had the day before visited Wairoa where he stopped in at The Limery. In 2019, the Wairoa district received $9.1 million from the Provincial Growth Fund (PGF), and of that, The Limery received a $355,000 loan to expand its operations in the region.

On Friday morning he visited a stop bank in Taradale which was raised last year with funding from the PGF. He also visited Cyclone damaged areas before speaking to the crowd at the Sailing Club.

In his address he took issue with Prime Minister Chris Hipkins claim the PGF as the Labour Party’s initiative, when he said it was actually New Zealand First’s idea.

Peters was accompanied by Laurie Turnbull, the New Zealand First candidate for Napier.
