The team (pictured from left) of Russell Broughton, Andy Mellor, Ron Garrick, Craig Giddy (captain) and Richard Lyons was unbeaten in four hour time limit ties with four other provinces.

Hawke's Bay beat Kapi Mana (Wellington) 16-0, Canterbury 16-0, Canterbury/Nth Otago 16-0 & Auckland 13-3 in the round robin.  A quirk of the draw saw Hawke's Bay play the strong Auckland side, who beat the Bay by a solitary game in the final last year, back to back on the final day of competition.

The redemption mission was completed with a four sets to one victory in the final. came with a 4 set to 1 win in the final. Captain Giddy, who holds numerous national individual Seniors titles, led the team by example and his troops responded to their respective challenges.

Numerous training sessions against many of Tennis Eastern's younger age group representatives paid off for the Seniors.
