Side B - 8:30pm
Side B are Brendon, Linz and Matt, a 3 piece acoustic covers band formed in Covid quarantine, covering their favorite rock and metal songs with just an acoustic guitar and male / female harmonies. The 3 members are also one half of local all-original Metal / Alternative outfit @A Little Apocalyptic, who are hard at work writing their debut EP. They hope you enjoy these stripped back versions.
No Engine - 9:30pm
No Engine is fronted by no other than NZ musician, artist and songwriter Fane Flaws. Fane has played in many bands over the years including Blerta, Spats and The Crocodiles, and is looking forward to performing at the Hb Music Hub Live Sessions, to in his words, get the underground capital of NZ and its wonderful original music out to the world.
Tropical Downbeat Orchestra - 10:30pm
Brooding, hypnotic, jazz-infused notes and sophisticated improvisations weave seamlessly with an extremely well ‘greased’ rhythm section creating something sounding utterly fresh and new. Introducing Tropical Downbeat Orchestra, the Poets of Funk. This Hawkes Bay based creative collective have a energy driven, eclectic repertoire that is mainly rooted in the soul, funk and jazz vibe. Lead singer Margot Wuts knows the part she has to play perfectly: at times belting it out like an old school gospel legend, at others pulling it back to a sexy sensual croon, she's very much the centrepiece around which the band weave their funky beats and jazzy grooves.
