Firefighters extinguish "well-involved" blaze at Black Barn Bistro

Firefighters have extinguished a "well-involved" blaze at Black Barn Bistro in Havelock North this evening.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand Hawke's Bay District Manager Ken Cooper says they were alerted to the fire at 9.20pm.

"On arrival, the laundry and kitchen area of the building was well-involved."

The fire was subsequently raised to second alarm level, with five appliances, a command vehicle and two support vehicles from Havelock North, Hastings and Napier in attendance.

While the fire has been extinguished, Cooper says crews will remain overnight and a fire investigator is on scene to establish the cause.

At the time they were called, the building was unoccupied, and no one received any injuries.
