It's almost time to get Toasted again

Don’t miss out on a chance to get your taste buds tingling – Toasted is less than three weeks away!

For the third year in a row, Napier City Council is pleased to host one of the most family-friendly, fun afternoons on the Winter F.A.W.C calendar. On Saturday 8 June Vagabond Jacks, The Picnic, Asian Diner and Mexi Mama make a welcome return to the Toasted arena, ready to pit their culinary skills against two newcomers, Funbuns and DCBBQ.

The ticket price includes entry and your first toasted sandwich, with the aim being that ticketholders go on to sample as many of the six sandwiches as they can before they vote for their favourite and help one of the foodies win the coveted People’s Choice Award.

The ingredients of all the toasted sandwiches won’t be revealed until the event opens.

“The popularity of Toasted last year and in 2017 has proven we’re all more than happy to go beyond the classic ham and cheese toastie – or whatever your favourite is – and try something different,” says Kevin Murphy, Event Manager, Napier City Council.

It also helps to have a great line-up of entertainment, things for the kids to enjoy, and craft beer and local wines from Beer Association Day (B.A.D) on sale, he adds.

White Chapel Jak, who were an immensely popular band to have at 2018 Toasted, will once again fill the main music slot, with appearances by Fleeting Sorrow and 80/20 earlier, and later in the day.

Toasted takes place in a new venue in Ahuriri this year, the former Bay Tours & Charters site.

Please note: Toasted toasties are not gluten free.
