Appeal for information following suspicious house fire in Wairoa
Police are appealing for information about a fire that caused significant damage to a Wairoa house yesterday morning.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand were called to the fire at an Apatu Street property about 1.15am.
In a statement, a police spokesperson said fire investigators and Police CIB attended the scene yesterday and further enquiries will be completed.
"At this stage, the fire is being treated as suspicious.
"Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen something around the time of the fire, or who might have information about what has occurred," the police spokesperson said.
