City Medical urge patients to follow Covid-19 procedures for treatment

City Medical is urging people to follow Covid-19 procedures for treatment as the country enters its third day in lockdown.

The urgent medical care provider in Napier is still open for emergencies during the tightened restrictions, but all patients will be expected to wait in their car and be screened by phone before admission to the clinic.

Otherwise, for less urgent matters, patients are free to contact the provider for a telemedicine appointment.

A spokesperson said it is important to remind people that their GP should always be the first port of call for routine care. General Practitioners around the region are set up to do this via the phone.

"We are getting a few stressed-out people feeling too impatient to wait when we could happily sort them if they'd give us the time to do it safely," a spokesperson said.
