City Medical's overnight nurse-led clinic closed due to damage caused by patient altercation
City Medical's overnight nurse-led clinic has been abruptly closed due to damage caused by a patient altercation this morning.
A Hawke's Bay District Health Board spokesperson confirmed the clinic, on Wellesley Road Napier, would be closed from 9pm until 8am tomorrow, due to the entrance doors being damaged and issues for staff safety.
"The DHB apologises for the short notice. The DHB hopes to have the issue resolved tomorrow and will provide a further update then."
Speaking to Hawke's Bay App, the spokesperson said the incident had been reported to police.
She says staff and patient safety remains their "number one priority" and they are providing whatever support is needed.
Security will be onsite overnight.
