Covid-19: 74 community cases and one death
There are 74 new cases of Covid-19 in the community today.
The Ministry of Health confirmed the figures in a statement released this afternoon.
Of today's cases, 56 are un Auckland, nine in Waikato, seven in Bay of Plenty and one in Lakes. The Canterbury case announced yesterday has officially been added to today’s figures as it came in after the Ministry's reporting cut off period.
A patient with Covid-19 has also died at Tauranga Hospital.
"The family has requested that no further details be released and, out of respect for those wishes, we will be making no further comment at this time," the Ministry said.
"Our thoughts are with the patient’s whānau and friends at this deeply sad time."
