A magnitude 4.2 earthquake rocked Waipukurau this evening.
GeoNet says the light earthquake hit 10 km east of Waipukurau at 5.55pm, at a depth of 31km.
More than 1800 people reported feeling the tremor, with 1045 saying it was weak, and 661 saying it was light.
