Emergency services battle "well-involved" truck fire, Napier
Updated: Emergency services battled a "well-involved" truck fire on State Highway 5, Napier.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand Shift manager said they were called at 6.40pm this evening and two fire trucks and two water tankers attended.
"It was well-involved on arrival and we are in the process of extinguishing it," she said at about 7pm.
The road was closed between Hill Rd and SH2, with a detour in place for light vehicles only via Hill Rd.
At 8.40pm, Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency said the road was open.
