First round of 2022 dividend payments made to those registered for direct credit

A payment of $240 has been made to Napier and Hastings power account holders who have registered their details for the 2022 Hawke’s Bay Power Consumers’ Trust dividend.

This year’s dividend payment will soon arrive in the nominated bank accounts of power consumers in Hawke’s Bay who are connected to Unison Networks Limited (UNL). This compares with the $230 payments made in the past two years.

The registration portal has been open online at www.hbpct.co.nz since October 18. Power consumers needed to register by Friday 18 November to receive payment direct to their nominated account from Friday 25 November.

“Power consumers who register for direct credit from today will still receive their dividend payment, but it will not be made in the first round of payments due from 25 November," said Trust Chair, Diana Kirton.

“We encourage all power consumers, even those who registered last year, to head into the portal to check their bank and address details are correct,” said Ms Kirton.

“If you haven’t yet registered, or if your bank account or address details have changed in the past 12 months, you will need to register your correct information to receive payment.”

“We ask that you please look out for whanau or friends who may need help with the registration process also. We don’t want anyone to miss out on the $240 they are entitled to.”

Every eligible power account holder has now been contacted directly by email, text or post with instructions on how to register or check their registered details, as well as their unique 4-digit code. To register for direct credit, consumers will need their unique 4-digit code, ICP Number (found on your power bill) and bank account details.

All information is available on the Trust website: www.hbpct.co.nz. For those who can’t get online, information and support to register is available on 0800 535 738.

At its annual public meeting on July 27, the Hawke’s Bay Power Consumers’ Trust (HBPCT) announced they had received a $15.8million dividend payment from UNL. This payment brings the total direct financial benefit consumers have received from Trust ownership since 1999 to around $235 million.
