Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction celebrates 30 years of generosity

The 2021 Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction will celebrate 30 years.

This year’s event will be held on Saturday 18th September, back in the heart of Hastings at ToiToi – Hawke’s Bay Arts & Events Centre. The Pre-tasting event will be one month earlier on Wednesday August 18 at the Napier War Memorial Centre.

Auction lots are a mix of bespoke and premium wines, in large format bottles, barrel lots along with one feature art piece and a travel package make up 40 Auction lots each year. Syndicates are an ideal way to participate in the auction due to the barrel lots comprising of between 75 and 300 bottles.

Cranford Hospice has always been the sole beneficiary of the Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction. Over the past six years the event has been the largest annual contributor to Cranford, 2020 saw a record-breaking $302,725 gifted. With a cumulative total gifted from 1991 to 2020 of over $3.9 million.

Thanks to the generosity of wineries, sponsors and bidders, the event is able to gift all auction funds raised annually to Cranford Hospice, supporting their operational costs.

The relationship between Cranford Hospice and the wine industry has become more and more personal over the years the auction has been running. There is a very strong association among individual winemakers and producers with this event and wine auction lots are selected and submitted with a great deal of thought, consideration and generosity.

Event tickets will go on sale in June and absentee bidding is also available. To follow update’s sign up at www.hawkesbaywineauction.co.nz
