Man remains in critical condition following water rescue near Haumoana
A man rescued from the water near Haumoana last night remains in a critical condition.
A police spokesperson said emergency services responded to a report of a person in difficulty in the water off Haumoana Beach about 8pm.
"One person was transported to Hawke's Bay Hospital in a critical condition," they said.
A Te Whatu Ora Te Matau a Māui Hawke's Bay (formerly Hawke's Bay District Health Board) spokeswoman said a man in his 40s arrived at Hawke’s Bay Hospital last night and has since been transferred to Christchurch Hospital.
