Napier sword shop ram raided for the second time in three days

A Napier sword shop has been ram-raided for the second time in three days.

Police responded to the incident at the King of Swords shop on Emerson St at about 4.30am this morning.

A police spokesperson said the offenders appear to have fled the scene in a second vehicle.

"Enquiries are ongoing to determine what was taken and to locate the offenders."

King of Swords is a niche gift store which stocks a range of items, including swords, daggers, knives, armour, clothing and jewellery.

Just two days ago, the shop was targeted about 3am on Monday when a group of youths smashed through the doors before taking off with a number of items.

Inquiries into the earlier incident were ongoing, a police spokesperson said at the time.

In recent weeks, the Cosmic Store (January 11) and the Ahuriri Corner Store (January 18) have been hit by incidents of a similar nature.
