Person dies two days after crash on State Highway 2 near Tangoio
Police have confirmed a person has died following a crash on SH2, Tangoio on Tuesday.
They were transported to hospital in a critical condition and later died from their injuries.
An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
The two-car crash on State Highway 2 north of Napier initially left one person critically injured and another seriously injured.
The highway between Tangoio Settlement Road and Aropaoanui Road, near Tangoio, reopened at 2.40pm on Tuesday, after four hours, police confirmed at the time.
Emergency services, including a rescue helicopter, were called to the crash, which was reported at about 10.20am.
