Police search for person of interest in Marewa
Police, including members of the Armed Offenders Squad, are searching for a person of interest in Marewa.
In a statement, police said residents of Barker Street, Marewa, and surrounding areas are asked to please stay inside while police are seeking a person of interest.
"Members of the Armed Offenders Squad are assisting as a precaution."
Residents in the area reported seeing a heavy police presence, and seeing the Armed Offenders Squad going from Hastings to Napier.
