Stabbing victim in stable condition following incident in Hastings
A man in his early 60s remains in a stable condition following a stabbing in Hastings on Friday.
A police spokesperson says they were called to King St North at about 6.55pm on Friday following a report of an altercation involving two parties.
The incident is understood to have happened at Zabeels Sports Bar and TAB on King St North.
A St John spokesperson says one patient was taken to Hawkes Bay Hospital by ambulance in a critical condition.
A Te Whatu Ora Te Matau a Māui Hawke's Bay spokeswoman says the victim is a man in his early 60s. As of this morning, he remains in a stable condition.
A 25-year-old man has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He is due to appear in Hastings District Court on October 4
