Two elderly men remain in serious condition at Hawke's Bay Hospital
Two elderly men remain in a serious condition at Hawke's Bay Hospital following a crash on State Highway 2, near Ōtāne.
Emergency services were called to the crash involving a truck and car at the intersection of Te Onepu Road and SH 2, Te Hauke, shortly after 10am.
A Hawke's Bay District Health Board spokeswoman confirmed a man in his 70s and a man in his 80s were both in a serious condition, as of 2.15pm.
A woman is still being assessed in the Emergency Department.
A St John Ambulance spokeswoman earlier confirmed they transported three people to Hawke's Bay Hospital - two in a serious condition and one in a moderate condition.
The road reopened at about 11.30am today. "Police would like to thank motorists for their patience while traffic management was in place," a police spokesperson said.
