International Hockey is back in Hawke's Bay

International Hockey is back in Hawke's Bay as Brisbane based club St Andrews' fly in an U18 Mens Team (the Saints) to play a nationwide tour including a select U18 Hawke's Bay Team.

After their initial tour had been postponed for over 2 years because of Covid the squad, parents, and supporters leave Brisbane to go on their NZ Tour on the 3rd of December and the HBH Association is excited to host an Australian team once again.

For Hawke's Bay eight players return from the Pak'nSave Men's U18 Squad who played Nationals in Palmerston North in July this year. Eight more players have been invited to join the squad, identified by coaches and selectors, with a handful being promoted from the U16 Representative side. Included are a limited amount of Year 13s, and Coach Aaron O'Keefe has added two more assistants to his coaching team for the one-off match. Joining Joe Hanks are Sam Chatfield and Shaun Basher,

Local umpire Matt Suckling will officiate along with one of the Saints own umpires and Fiona Elmes has been appointed as the Technical Official.
