Playing goal attack during the second half of her team's 53-43 wn against Optimise Physio Outkast Sports in round one of the Super 8 round robin in Taradale's Pettigrew-Green Arena, Sharrock, sunk all 12 of her attempts at goal. This success rate along with her smart options in and out of the circle earnt Sharrock her team's player-of-the-match award.

"That was a crucial win for us and to do it with just the bare minimum seven players was pretty special," experienced All In midcourter Candis Timms said afterwards.

The league's top shooter in 2019, Pania Rowe, was among the unavailable All In players. This meant regular defender Kathleen Nahora had to play goal shoot for the entire game and she finished with 39 successes from 46 attempts for an 85 per cent success rate.

Her team led 12-7 after the first quarter, 23-21 at halftime and 37-33 at the start of the final quarter. Outkast goal shoot Madison King sunk 18 of her 23 atempts for a 78 per cent success rate.

BM Accounting HHSOG Huia had to work hard for their 42-35 win against Vet Services Central Sports. Huia finished with a 66 per cent shooting average while Central had 78 per cent.

"While we gave Huia too much ball I'm stoked with our continued improvement," Central coach Jeanette Oliver said.

"Because of injuries and players away we were only running with eight players. Three crucial turnovers cost us but we had them rattled and we proved we can work towards a top four finish," Oliver added.

The score was 11-all after the first quarter, Huia led 21-19 at halftime and 30-26 after the third quarter.

Central goal shoot Timara Wereta sunk 17 opf her 20 attempts for an 85 per cent success rate. Her goal attack, Kirby Beach, sunk 18 of her 25 attempts for a 72 per cent success rate.

Huia goal shoot Bianca van Dyk sunk 19 of her 27 attempts for a 70 per cent success rate. Her team had 64 shots at goal while Central had 45.

Thirsty Whale Otane Force displayed the gap between the top and bottom sides with their 78-25 walloping of House of Travel Havelock North Kauri. Otane led 20-5 after the first quarter, 42-12 at halftime and 63-17 at the start of the final quarter.

Otane goal shoot Millie Ironside slotted 53 of her 63 attempts for an 84 per cent success rate. Goal attack Michelle Bazalo was the best of the Kauri players in the attacking circle with a 67 per cent success rate - 16 successes from 24 attempts.

The other match, played on Wednesday night, saw defending champions Napier Girls' High School beat Hastings Girls' High School 63-38.
