AOS and Police Negotiation Team find "nothing of interest" following incident in Maraenui
More than two hours after the Armed Offenders Squad and Police Negotiation team were called to a Maraenui address, cordons have been lifted.
Residents were asked to stay in their homes as a precaution as police zoned in on Gilray Ave in the Napier suburb.
A police spokesperson said they were called to an address at around 2:10pm but nothing of interest was located.
"Enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
"Police thank nearby residents for their understanding while we were in attendance."
