Havelock North residents asked to restrict their water use this week

Havelock North residents are being asked to conserve water over the next few days while work is carried out on one of the drinking water network pipelines.

Tomorrow and Wednesday a section of the Havelock North drinking water network will be turned off to connect the Havelock North booster pump station to the existing pipeline.

During this time the quantity of water supply will be limited for a 48-hour period, and to help ensure everyone has enough water residents are being asked to restrict their water use from today through until Thursday.

The council has put contingency measures in place and does not anticipate any disruptions to service.

The best way for Havelock North residents to help is to not water their gardens with sprinklers, limit use of hand-held hoses, and avoid activities like washing the car or filling the pool.
