Body of missing diver found off Māhia coast
The body of a diver missing off the coast of Māhia since yesterday afternoon has been located.
Local boats assisting with the search found the diver about 9am this morning.
In a statement, police said a search plane has been stood down and boats have now returned to shore.
Search and Rescue crews had been searching for the missing diver, on the Māhia coast in Hawkes Bay, since just after 4pm yesterday afternoon.
Police said Search and Rescue staff, the rescue helicopter and several local fishing boats were engaged in the search before it was suspended yesterday evening.
The Police Dive Squad continued the search this morning.
