This Easter Weekend will be filled with hot cross buns, chocolate eggs, attempted sleep-ins, and the odd rain shower but that doesn't stop the fun events across the Hawke's Bay this weekend.

The Extravaganza Fair at Anderson Park in Napier is a community centred event with a creative and sustainable focus. It's a family affair with free entry for kids and a gold coin on entrance for adults. Featuring unique and interesting stalls, food, and great entertainment, The Extravanganza Fair runs from Friday until Monday.

Got a hard to please trainspotter in your family? Keep them and the rest of the whānau entertained at the Easter Open Weekend Train Rides at Keirunga Park Railway in Havelock North. Ride the trains, enjoy the scenery, explore the playground, stroll the trails, and maybe share a picnic a in the gardens. Train rides are $2 a ride but children aged 2 and under and teddy bears can ride for free. Expect new takes on old classics from the songbooks of soul, blues, and rock when the Groove Foundation take the stage at Abbey Winery & Brewery in Bridge Pā. Kick back and relax while listening to the chilled out sounds of local talents while sipping on some boutique wines and beers in the vinces. Free entry, band starts at 1pm this Saturday.

This Saturday evening make sure to catch Auckland indie hunks Dateline supported by local dream-folk duo The Cellars at The Common Room in Hastings. Made up with some of the most talented musicians in Auckland, Dateline are a hot new talent not to be missed. Tickets will be avaialble at the door, or pick yours up now here.

If you're after a loud rock n' roll experience this weekend make sure you get along Te Tokotoru and Te Whanau Puoro at Paisley Stage in Napier. A hard rock power trio built around Māori tikanga, Te Tokoturu features local hero Arahi, backed with a rhtyhm section featuring bass wizard William Devine and the funky fingered Fane Flaws. If you're after a bit more of a boogie woogie then Jess Atkin & The Urban Cats at The Urban Winery in Napier will be your destination this Saturday night from 8 til 10pm. Come and enjoy Jess' distinctive and powerfully soulful voice, backed by some of the best jazz musicians in the country. Tickets are $15 on the door or get them here for a discounted price. 

This Sunday The Globe Theatrette in Napier are playing The Trust Fall: Julian Assange Documentary. Join The globe for this powerful Aussie film about the most famous political prisoner of our times. The film starts at 8pm and you can book your tickets your tickets here.
